There’s a lovely week of Tango ahead at Amistoso — and this one is particularly good if you’ve been meaning to start dancing, come back after a break, or bring a friend into Tango.
We have classes running through the week, three very different milongas to take us into the weekend, and new Beginners courses beginning on Friday and Sunday. And if you like looking a little further ahead… September is going to be rather special. ✨
🌱 NEW THIS WEEK — BEGINNERS COURSES
If you know someone who keeps saying, “I really should try Tango one day…” this might be the week to send them our way. 😊
Friday 28 August — New Beginners, Farringdon
6.30pm – 7.30pm at 10 Herbal Hill, EC1R 5EG
A new seven-week Beginners course starts on Friday. It’s designed to build Tango from the foundations — connection, walking, communication and learning how to dance together rather than simply memorising steps.
And afterwards, they can stay and see the Amistoso community in full swing at Milonga Maitrī. ❤️
Sunday 30 August — New Beginners, Angel
5.00pm – 6.00pm at Claremont Project, N1 9PD
With Winston & Teresa
Another new seven-week Beginners course begins on Sunday, followed by our 6pm class and Milonga Simpática from 7.30pm.

9.00pm – 12.00am — Milonga Maitrī with Winston
Friday night is our big friendly start to the Tango weekend: classes first, then three hours to dance, catch up with friends and enjoy the Maitrī atmosphere.
Bring your own drinks and snacks, find your favourite corner of Herbal Hill, and settle in for the evening. 💕

🌙 SATURDAY — MILONGA AMISTOSA
Saturday 29 August | 10 Herbal Hill, Farringdon
6.45pm – 8.15pm — Advanced Level with Winston & Teresa
8.15pm – 11.30pm — Milonga Amistosa with Teresa
Saturday is for going a little deeper. Start with the Advanced class, then stay for Amistosa and a night centred around connection, musicality and plenty of dancing.

5.00pm – 6.00pm — Beginners with Winston & Teresa

7.30pm – 10.30pm — Milonga Simpática with Winston
Sunday has become our place to play. We explore Tango beyond the usual boundaries in Tango Unlimited and then finish the weekend together at Simpática — relaxed, friendly and full of good energy.

📚 ALSO HAPPENING THROUGH THE WEEK
Tuesday
We’ll have our final Advanced Class with Winston and Teresa. From September onwards, we’re excited to welcome Oa Metzner, a fabulous tango dancer and teacher in both roles, who will launch Tango Lab Seminars with our own dear Winston.
Wednesday
We have Beginners at 7pm followed by our Milonga & Vals work at Improvers and Intermediate levels — a chance to spend some proper time understanding the different rhythm, character and movement of these two beautiful parts of Tango music.
Thursday
In Angel, Beginners is followed by Voleos & Ganchos at Improvers and Intermediate levels. If you want to understand these movements as something that grows naturally from communication and dynamics rather than as decorative tricks, this is a lovely course to explore.
🌱 STARTING NEXT WEEK
A new month brings a few fresh starts.
Tuesday 1 September — a new five-week Advanced course begins at Angel, 8.00–9.30pm.
Friday 4 September — a new four-week Open Level course begins at Herbal Hill, 7.30–9.00pm.

⭐ COMING SOON — CHICHO & JUANA IN LONDON
18–20 September 2026
This is one we are genuinely excited about.
Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli and Juana Sepulveda are coming to Tango Amistoso for an entire weekend of seminars and dancing. Chicho was one of the dancers who helped reshape modern Tango, and together Chicho & Juana bring an extraordinary combination of innovation, connection and musicality.
The weekend includes five seminars across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus all three milongas — with a special Chicho & Juana performance on Friday night.
If you want to go beyond collecting movements and really explore how Tango can work, feel and communicate, this is a weekend worth making space for.
