Demetrio and Dilara in London This Weekend | 21–27 September 2026

Demetrio Scafaria and Dilara Ogretmen are coming to London together for the first time this weekend, bringing three very different workshops across Milonga Maitrī, Milonga Amistosa and Milonga Simpática.
Demetrio is already well known to many people in our community, and this time he is joined by Dilara from Turkey. Their weekend moves from precise circular sequences in close embrace, through dynamic changes of direction, to the rhythm and flow of vals. They will also perform together at Milonga Maitrī at 11.00pm on Friday.

Friday 25 September | 10 Herbal Hill, Farringdon
- 6.30pm–7.30pm — Beginners with Winston Veerender and Teresa Wang
- 7.30pm–9.00pm — Open Level workshop with Demetrio Scafaria and Dilara Ogretmen: Circular Sequences in Closed Embrace
- 9.00pm–12.00am — Milonga Maitrī with DJ Diogo
- 11.00pm — Performance by Demetrio and Dilara
The workshop explores circular closed-embrace sequences for social dancing, with a focus on connection, precision and quality of movement. Then we move into the lively Friday atmosphere of Maitrī, with their performance at 11.00pm.

Saturday 26 September | 10 Herbal Hill, Farringdon
- 6.45pm–8.15pm — Advanced workshop with Demetrio Scafaria and Dilara Ogretmen: Change of Direction
- 8.15pm–11.30pm — Milonga Amistosa with DJ Mauro Alejandro Mol
The class works with pivots, dynamics and energy flow to make changes of direction feel coherent, fluid and musical. Afterwards, Amistosa offers its usual Saturday evening of strong dancing, connection and traditional tango music.

Sunday 27 September | Claremont Project, Angel
- 5.00pm–6.00pm — Beginners with Mauro Alejandro Mol
- 6.00pm–7.30pm — Open Level workshop with Demetrio Scafaria and Dilara Ogretmen: Vals
- 7.30pm–10.30pm — Milonga Simpática with DJ Simon Donnelly
The final workshop uses circular movement and giros to explore the natural rhythm, elegance and flow of vals. Then Simpática gives us a relaxed Sunday finish to the weekend.
