Before your first visit

Frequently asked questions.

Most first-time questions are practical. Here are the answers that make it easier to walk through the door.

Tango Amistoso dancers and community
What this offers

Friendly, clear and built for progress.

The experience is designed to make the next step obvious while quietly reflecting the depth of the wider Tango Amistoso community.

A community that keeps developing

Across Tango Amistoso, beginners feel supported and experienced dancers remain challenged. That combination is central to both the social atmosphere and the quality of the dancing.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers.

Do I need a partner?

No. Most people attend group classes alone, and we usually rotate partners.

Do I need previous dance experience?

No. Complete beginner classes assume no Tango or partner-dance experience.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes and secure shoes with a sole that allows some turning. Avoid very grippy trainers if possible.

How do I book?

Choose a class or product through the timetable and complete checkout. Your developer will connect live availability and payment.

Can I pay at the door?

This depends on the event. Advance booking is recommended and some courses or workshops require it.

Which level should I choose?

Use the Level Guide or contact us. Choose the class in which you can practise well, not the highest label you can technically enter.

Can I attend a milonga as a beginner?

Yes. Beginner classes before the social are the easiest route; keep the dancing simple and follow the line of dance.

What happens if I miss a subscription class?

Subscriptions normally provide access across eligible classes, but current terms and exclusions should be confirmed in the product description.

Can visitors from outside London attend?

Absolutely. We welcome travelling dancers; check the level and event information or contact us if you need guidance.

How do cancellations work?

The final cancellation and refund rules must be displayed in the product terms and checkout flow.
